Good Afternoon Blog readers!
Recording wrapped up yesterday afternoon. After two long hard days, Katie has 4 songs tracked for her next CD. Now they are off to the mixer and she is finalizing things for the next session. Planning meeting next week and tracking the following week. There were a few tears shed at yesterday's session. The emotion that is felt when you see your creation come alive, and it is just what you had planned, can be overwhelming! And to be there to share in that moment was well... I can't even describe it...I could steal Molly's word AMAZING...but that is just not enough. This songwriter is at a loss for words.
Yesterday morning after breakfast, I went to the Business Center of the hotel to print some lyrics. There were three men in the center having coffee and talking about songwriting. I decided to strike up a conversation on my way out the door. As we talked one of the men asked what brought me to Nashville. I told him I was there to attend the recording session of my friend singer/songwriter, Katie Quick. He knows Katie and has co written with her! He spoke very highly of her skills and her determination! Of all the singer/songwriters in Nashville I randomly run into one who knows Katie! But, that means she is getting known around town! After this CD release many more will know her too!

Keep dreamin' big!
Good morning Katie Quick Fans! Well, yesterday travel troubles, a two and a half hour equipment problem on the plane out of Cincinnati, caused me to miss 2 and one half hours of studio time! I was a bit upset, because it meant I missed the instrumentation tracking! They did all the instruments for 4 songs before I arrived. (The keyboard player is going on tour with George Strait soon!) I am also bummed that I missed the ganjo!! It will be featured on Katie's upcoming song Best in Me!
